It’s Sunday, the beginning of a new week so that means it’s time for a Bloggin’ Recap. A feature inspired by A Bookish Heart. Every Sunday I’ll get the chance to tell you what’s going on in my life, what I’ve posted for the week, what to expect in the upcoming week and posts I enjoyed from other bloggers.
In the Real World
Leave it to California to completely snuff winter; it’s actually been hot here! This only makes me miffed because winter is my favorite season and I’m not sure if you guys know this about me, but I sunburn RIDICULOUSLY easy. So just when I thought we were going to get a nice break from sunshine it impolitely outstays its welcome. If this is what winter feels like, I’m dreading the summer.
I went to the beach last Friday with my mom and sister Hayley. Hayley was experiencing a major case of Senioritis and needed a quick escape so we had a fun girl’s day. The weather was perfect and it wasn’t too crowded. I ended up buying these two items from the Seashell Shop:
It was Valentine’s day on Friday and for some that means a romantic dinner and flowers, but for me it meant watching The Princess Bride with my family while I ate my candy generously gifted from my lovely mother. She also gave me a Barnes and Noble gift card, a Dr. Seuss edition:
It’s so cool I’m saving it (my first books ever were Dr. Seuss and I still have my Dr. Seuss themed book ends). I’ve already spent the gift card. I ordered Cinder by Marissa Meyer. The Lunar Chronicles seem to be all the rage in the book blogging community so I have to see what the fuss is about. I also got Coraline by Neil Gaiman. He’s an author that I’ve been wanting to try for a while now and the premise of the story sounds spooky. I haven’t seen the movie but the fact that Tim Burton was involved is enough for me.

No problem Becky! 🙂
Thanks for the mention! It means a lot. These posts are very helpful in finding other great blogs to follow. Have a great day!
No problem, your quote was worth sharing! I’m glad you liked the post, thanks for reading! 🙂
Awww that owl shell thing is so adorable! And I hate this weather too 😦 It’s supposed to be like 85 today. DISGUSTING. Summer is going to be a nightmare D: As soon as I can, I want to move away from California. Or, we could just jump a few hundred years into the future and use one of those cold fusion things from Star Fleet. You know, whatever works.
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Cinder! I liked that book, but it’s sequel Scarlet is where the real magic is 😉
Thank you, I absolutely adore it! I placed it on my desk (a.k.a.– blogging station) and pretend it’s silently telling me to stop procrastinating and start blogging. 🙂
I mean, what the heck is up with California? Everywhere else it’s like the coldest winter ever but its like winter completely just skipped over here, its not fair! I want my snugly clothes and hot chocolate darn it! (I give your Star Fleet plan two thumbs up, I’m ALL for it)!
Yeah I’m really excited, I’m always partial to fairy tale retellings so I’m sure I’ll love it.
Thanks for reading Kayla! 🙂
Thank you Lindsey for sharing such an amazing assortment of posts. I have not made very many resolutions this year, save one. I will read more. For pleasure. It has been an amazing few months so far travelling several different landscapes in the world of literary fiction. I have both you and GoodReads to thank for that nudge in the enlightened direction 😉 Thank you and best wishes for an inspired day!
Thank YOU so much for your inspiring posts. I always take away an enlightening meaning after reading your writing so truly, thank you for sharing your words.
I’m so glad that I could encourage anyone to read more, it’s probably the highest compliment you could pay to a book blogger, so thank you and I am honored.
I love these recaps of yours! Thanks for the mention, by the way. 🙂 I can’t wait for your upcoming review of John Green’s Looking for Alaska… it’s one of my favorite books, and I love hearing what people have to say about it.
It’s warm where you live?!?!?! I live in New England, and we currently have about two feet of snow. It’s crazy cold, and I just can’t wait for summer to arrive! It’s a long ways away, though. 😦
Great post!
Thanks Holly, I love writing them!
I can’t wait to read it either, I’ve become a big fan of John Green so if his novel is anything like his previous works than I know I’ll love it!
It’s not only warm, its HOT. As in go outside and come back sweaty and sticky hot. Isn’t that just plain out ridiculous? It’s February for crying out loud, I should be wearing thermals and earmuffs not shorts and tank tops. Uhhh.
Glad to know its cold somewhere. 😉
Thanks for reading! 🙂
THAT OWL *.*
Also, Neil Gaiman rocks, I hope you love him!
I know, it’s the cutest thing ever!
I have a good feeling about Neil Gaiman!
Thanks for reading! 🙂
