In Real Life

Well, Cinder and Coraline finally arrived in the mail. I read Coraline out loud to my little sister and it was so good! Creepy, but good. I’m really impressed with Neal Gaiman’s creativity and imagination. The story was so unique. I do have to admit, I tried to scare my sister a couple of times with the picture in the book and I ended up giving myself nightmares. That’s karma for ya.

In Real Life

Well it’s been a long week with theater stuff. I’m on the board for my local community theater and I’ve been trying to increase our season ticket sales. We want to add more perks and so far we’ve come up with: an exclusive newsletter, champagne events, special raffle prizes and no box office line wait. I’ve also taken over the social media side of it but it’s exhausting. Does anyone else have any ideas about perks? What would you want if you were a season ticket holder for a community theater?

In the Real World

Leave it to California to completely snuff winter; it’s actually been hot here! This only makes me miffed because winter is my favorite season and I’m not sure if you guys know this about me, but I sunburn RIDICULOUSLY easy. So just when I thought we were going to get a nice break from sunshine it impolitely outstays its welcome. If this is what winter feels like, I’m dreading the summer.

I went to the beach last Friday with my mom and sister Hayley. Hayley was experiencing a major case of Senioritis and needed a quick escape so we had a fun girl’s day. The weather was perfect and it wasn’t too crowded. I ended up buying these two items from the Seashell Shop:

In the Real World

The cold snap finally hit California which means snuggly clothes and hot chocolate for this gal. My play has been going very well, every day it seems to get better and better and I am confident it will be a great show. For those of you that don’t know I have decided to participate in NaNoWriMo this year, which is a writing challenge where the goal is to hit 50,000 words by the end of November.

I met my daily goal the first day but fell behind yesterday. However, the time has changed and I plan to take every advantage of my extra hour. I’ve even decided to start leaving early for work so that I can sit in the diner across the street to write. When I’m home the internet usually tempts me so if I go somewhere without a Wi-Fi connection, I can write to my heart’s content. (Of course me wanting to go to this diner has nothing to do with the fact that they make a mean milkshake).

How did your week turn out?

What I’ve Posted this Week:

Posts to Look Forward to this Week:

  • New Feature: In Their Shoes
  • The Hardships of Loving Books
  • Favorite Novel Monster
